Wegweiserring
The square of the Mehringplatz is the hub of many public facilities and institutions. Including the Museum of Technics, the Museum for Communication, the Jewish Museum, the Berlin Gallery, the Memorial Library, The Willy Brandt-House, the Museum of the Berlin Wall at Checkpoint Charlie, the Hebbel Theatre HAU 1, the Theatre am Halleschen Ufer HAU 2, the Tempodrom, the federal center of a big health insurrance, the architectural association and others.

With the underground lines U1 and U6 (Hallesches Tor) the square is a crossroads which is frequented by many pedestrians.

A circle of directories around the historical fountain in the centre of the square is supposed to offer an orientation guide. The ring names the surrounding cultural facilities and the most important spots in the city indicating the distance.
